The Hill of Uisnéach is the story of Ireland. From our earliest ancestors to the medieval high kings; from the saints and scholars of early Christianity to the freedom fighters and political leaders of the modern era, all have left their mark on the hill.
A world heritage site located in the ancient Boyne Valley and hills of the Celtic kings in Co Meath (known as the Royal county).
Famous for the famous prehistoric passage tombs of Knowth, Newgrange and Dowth which were built in 3200BC. These ceremonial structure are among the most important Neolithic sites in the world.
** Facilities will be available at the Visitor Centre before the tours set off.
** Tours are roughly 2.5 hrs, over mostly grassland and it is an easy to moderate walk of roughly 3km. There will be stops en-route, so folk can rest and listen to the guide.
** We ask our guests to dress for the occasion – a good pair of waterproof boots or shoes are advised if the weather is inclement, or a change of shoes and socks for their comfort after the tour, if this is not possible.
** Guests will be welcomed back to the Visitor Centre after their tour, with their guide where teas and coffees will be made available, all inc. in the tour price.
